OEM croco strap and Wright "Cyclone" engine cufflinks draw it all together IMHO....

IMO Ron the B1 wears well with any get up.....on the Croco it looks particularly up market so it works for me.

As James Bond once said, "Well, as long as the collar and cuffs match... "

I LOVE the cufflinks!!!!!! Please tell us where you got them!

Nick

By the way, I think it looks a little rugged, but you probably could pull it off anyways. The cufflinks tie it all together. The only time I wouldn't wear a wrist watch is with a tuxedo.

I have found all my Bretilings appropriate with a suit. Some suits and occasions (rare) even work with rubber straps, for me the Diver ProII.

It's all about whether YOU are comfortable with it. IMO you put together a perfect look.

Thanks for the comments guys. :) I was fortunate to find those cufflinks on Ebay. I just happened to be searching for cufflinks with an aviation theme and came across that pair. Got lucky and "sniped" them successfully. They are sterling silver vintage cufflinks made by a U.S. company, "Hickock", in the late 1940's. They are replicated Wright R-1300 "Cyclone" engines (designed in 1942) and have 925 sterling silver backings. The R-2600 "Twin Cyclone" was used to power the North American B-25 Mitchell bomber. Here is some information on the engine... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_R-1300 and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_R-2600 . I love the contrast between the beautiful and classic radial engine and the modern technology B-1. Quite a conversation starter for certain...

Speaking of cufflinks, I also had an unusual pair handmade for me recently by a gentleman in Toronto, Canada. They are fabricated from antique Underwood typewriter keys and also have 925 sterling silver backings. I wanted them to match the slate grey dial on my Chronomat Evolution so he crafted them using actual fine grained, foliated slate rock from Newfoundland. Very different from the radial engine cufflinks but quite unique in their own way I think.... :)
Best,
Ron

There is a superbly restored and maintained B-25 flying out from Sion Air Base, Switzerland. They try to participate in as many meetings as possible. I looooooove the sound of those engines at take off.

Have a look of the B-25 on: http://www.worldwarbirdreport.com/Russe ... index.html
