I'm not sure what you mean by skips. Does it jump from second to second like a quartz? Post a video on youtube so we can see. |

The hand actually doesn't sweep in a continuous non-interrupted movement but instead the movement is comprised of multiple tiny movements for each second. It appears to sweep because of the very tiny but very rapid ticks. That is normal movement and nothing to be concerned about but I'm guessing that yours is doing something different? |

I've seen this on Valjoux movement 7736 and I don't think I imagined it but it also occurs on my SOHC - a 7750 (B13). My understanding of the mechanics of these chrono movements is virtually non-existent, and I stand to be corrected by someone far more qualified, but I think the skipping is due to a very slight misadjustment of a sprung component common to some Valjoux designs when it is assembled. BUK obviously knew what to do because they fixed mine without question. The fact that it apparently escaped their attention at the service surprised me a little. Unless it is something that develops as a recently assembled movement 'beds' in? |
