Hi! I'm planning to buy a SO and it's diameter should be about 42 mm. Could anyone please tell me if this is the watch "outer" diameter of the bezel? My present watch (not Breitling) is 43 mm and I think it's rather small... /Anders |

Yes, as answered already, that's the measurement for the outer diameter excluding the crown. But, there are things to the watch as well to make it look big/small. depending on the build/model, a 42 mm watch can look bigger than a 44 mm watch... The best way to determine this is ti visit your nearest AD and try on a few models. I have a SO and it feels much bigger than my Omega Speedmasters. But, then I wear my SA or 6.75 and the SO feels tiny...

Well said Aleister. A Navitimer for example has quite a "fine" construction so even a Navi World at 46mm can look much less imposing than an SA which is only 2mm larger. Many watches can also "wear" larger or smaller on the wrist than their size would suggest... again depending on the style. There's just no substitute for trying them on. |

I don't know how much time I've spent doing SO-research on the internet, totally waste of time! The AD at Corralejo, Fuerteventura had both the SO and SA in store. If I compare my present watch (43 mm) and the SA with the SO. The SO looks like a ladies watch 
The SA is more expensive but I'll rather wait a few years for a full ling. |

The SA is well worth the wait. But be warned - once you get into the "big stuff", it's pretty hard to go back to "regular sized" watches. |

on the contrary, wearing my 'little' sea dweller or SO makes strapping on the SA even more fun......variety is the spice of life.

Really? I personally don't find that at all. But then as a Coral Man, I guess variety is DEFINITELY your thing!!
