I will be buying a Chonomat BO1 in the near future.....sorry for asking this sacreligious question.
I have just read the FAQ regarding reference numbers and was wondering if there is a further information contained in either the reference number or any attached serial numbers indicating that that the movement, casing, bracelet/strap is an 'updated' version from the original released version of the watch.
Would hate to be sold a version that was for example a 1234 rather than a 12345 or a 1234a, if you understand my meaning.

Any good ADs' in the London and SouthEast of England areas???

Welcome to the site. The Chronomat B01 is rumored to have a different reference number system than that posted in the FAQ section here. Evidently the ref number on these is starting with a numeric digit rather than the traditional letter system. I would assume that this system is going to replace the old one insofar as it relates to the B01 movement and its subsequent use in other models. I don't know if anyone here has any knowledge of the new system but I am dying to know the answer as well.

To the best of my knowledge there have been no updates / changes to any element of the B01 since release.

Ah I read this differently. I guess I took it as the original Chronomat. Not sure what he meant now. I think BR took it as I did also. Not sure though.

I think Elwyn (br549) was referring to the model numbers on Breitling watches.

Most Breitlings have a number like eg A23322 for a Navitimer. Details here http://www.breitlingsource.com/articles_refnos.shtml

The B01 has a different looking code on the back widely reported as follows...
AB0110 - Steel case
BB0110 - Steel case with gold riders/tabs/pushers (Two Tone)
CB0110 - Steel case/gold bezel
HB0110 - Rose gold case

However, there are pics of a TT posted by a member here which has the model ref IB0110 rather than BB0110 as would be expected. The I (it definitely looks like an I to me rather than a 1) has never been previously used to indicate case material. AFAIK, Breitling have not formally announce the numbering system for the B-01, hence the slight confusion over what is precisely on the case back.

Sorry for the confusion.....

Although I do think I have been given an answer to my original question.

Basically I assumed that the BO1 on its original release would have had a seriel number (or indeed a model number) referenced as, perhaps, A1, but because of Breitlings' need to improve on perfection, they may have changed the movement of the watch which they now referenced for example as A2.
This example may have been applied to the casing/strap etc.

Because I have come across some ADs that state they have a number of B01s readily available and others state it will take them 3 months to get one in, I wouldn't want to be greedy and make a purchase with the AD that has a B01 in easy reach when in fact it is 'old stock' and the fact that the other ADs who want me to wait 3 months will provide some confidence that the watch supplied has been recently come off the bench with the latest components.

The most accurate way to 'date' your watch is the 4 digit code between the 6 o'clock lugs - the first four digits there are WWYY of production. However, I am virtually 100% certain that there is no practical difference between (say) a 2209 (May 2009) and a 0610 (February 2010).
