I have always adjusted my automatics watches backwards to correct time by a few minutes.. i am sure we all need to do this at some point as i avarge about 2 mins fast every several weeks.. i like to adjust to the correct time and have always rolled it back the 2 mins...

Friend at work is trying to tell me that this will damage the watch.. is this true? i have never had a problem before.

Seems a little much to only move the minute hand forward then have to adjust the date etc... :-|

Although the "danger time" is important for older Breitlings, that is not true anymore for the B01. The new Caliber B01 has an instant date-change calendar that can be adjusted at any time with no risk of damaging the movement.

so just to clarify...you can adjust the time in the danger zone but can not adjust the date during the danger zone?

Here's an interesting post regarding the B01 by BreitlingUSA at TZ recently:

"Just a few details to clear up on the amazing B01 in-house movement:

The B01 has a unique calendar system so that the date can be quick set regardless of the time. Even 1 min after midnight the date can be quick set without any damage to the drive wheel, calendar disc or calendar jumper.

The date is also instantaneous and does not show any drag before engaging.

The B01 hacks the balance wheel in the crowns third position. Also unique is that the hack lever gives the balance wheel an impulse as to "bring it up to speed".

The B01 has a 70 + power reserve, this greatly helps timing over 24hours due to consistent mainspring torque.

The chronograph utilizes a vertical clutch system; this gives a smooth start to the chronograph second hand and runs more efficiently with chronograph engaged.

This is the second reference to this in this thread; a B01 that is. I have looked and looked at the OP, read and re-read it and I don't see where he is referring to a B01. Am I just going blind? Is this question about a B01 and I'm just having a stupid attack guys? :oops:

You shouldn't move time backwards in the 'danger time' of 8pm and 3am, but at any other time it's not an issue for most watches. For some grand complications it is a real issue and should be avoided at all costs because of the chance of damage. All that said, an adjustment of 2 minutes is unlikely to have a practical impact.

No watch should have time wound backwards or have the quick set date changed in the danger zone. The B01 doesn't have a danger zone as it's instant date change, but that's not new, the same is true of the 6.75, Blackbird and Cockpit.
