Hi, I've had my Breitling stop twice now due to me not wearing it, however, it seems to only manage 24 hours on its own.... Basically... Put it on Monday 5pm (after it had been sat for about 12 hours) Took it off at 11pm Monday Put it on at 11am Tuesday Took it off at 5pm Tuesday checked it and it had ran out at 2:30pm Wednesday. Is it because I'm not wearing it enough, or is 5 hours wearing it enough to get it up to full power? Its not going to have been moving for much of this time as I spend a lot of time working on my laptop but obviously still moving my hands. Its the B17 movement so should be good for about 40hours. Cheers, Josh |

It sounds like you aren't wearing it enough to fully wind it. Give the watch a full wind (about 40 turns of the crown) and then leave it alone until it stops. That will tell you whether there is a problem with the power reserve, but it doesn't sound like it. You can always use the crown to 'top up' the power reserve if wearing it isn't enough, or of course there are watchwinders. |

Thanks for the reply, I have a winder, but I'm a little wary about using it as the general reply from people round here was negative. The crown winding sounds good, but how do I do that exactly...? cheers, Josh edit: nevermind I got it.... ![]() ![]() |

Unscrew the crown until it clicks. Wind it it a clockwise direction as though you are looking at the crown end on. You'll know you're winding it the right way as it will feel slightly resistive. Wind the other way you'll just hear a feint clicking |
