Being new to automatic movements, is it detrimental or considered a no-no to wind the hands backwards on my Breitling when changing the time? Must I always rotate them forwards?
Thanks in advance for any help.

No, you don't have to. Just don't use a quick date set function between 10pm and 2am.

actually i have heard it isn't good for the movement to be wound backwards for an extensive amount. afterall, the movement was designed to move in one direction, i'm sure its putting some wear and tear on it to go the opposite way for an extended amount.

I have heard this as well, and I even seemed to remember reading it in the manual for one of my Breitlings, but I can't be sure...

I've also heard somewhere that you are best not to wind the movement backwards. I certainly never do it myself......
