Thanks, The paperwork states "Sapphire Crystal with Anti-reflective coating". Could it be the coating?

As far as I know you can't repair scratched sapphire, it has to be replaced. The AR coating can be removed and reapplied, but don't think that the crystal can be repaired.

The coating is microscopically thin so you wouldn't feel a scratch in that, usually only visible with a loupe.

Sorry folks, I was reading the wrong paperwork, the crystal IS mineral. Can the scratch be removed if mineral? Thanks again, Bryan

Yes, but it needs to be buffed - likely easier and cheaper to replace. Additionally, Breitling will now replace with sapphire - more expensive, but well worth it in my opinion.
