Hi everyone. My first post here. I found the forum while researching this problem I have had a Breitling watch for about 7 years now. First a B-2, then a B1, and now an Airwolf. This never occurred with the B-1 but has happened twice in the last few weeks to the Airwolf, it has been fine for the last 19 months but now it is causing problems. (bought it in May 2008) The hands and the digital display keep going out of sync. Yesterday it was about 5 minutes out, but by this morning it is about 25 minutes I have read the manual, and seen threads here, and I do know how to re-sync, but what it the problem here? Is it a common problem and is it an easy fix. I was wondering if this starts to happen when the battery gets tired/ is this possibly a battery issue or something more serious? I see I have a 2 year warranty, so hopefully if there is a problem it will be fixed under the Warranty, but I wanted to find out a bit more first. Thanks Neil |

Not an expert on quartz movements so leery to offer opinions on the problem, but...... It's still under warranty so take it bakc to the AD. |

Check the manufacture date of your watch to determine approximately how long the battery has been in the case. (The 4 digit code between the south interhorns. First two digits the week, second two the year of manufacture). The battery is likely to have been in use for over two years, perhaps closer to three years. Even though you purchased the watch less than two years ago, the battery is likely well below full strength by now if it was installed around three years ago. My B-1 began to lose sync quite often when the battery was about 2 1/2 years old. Of course, battery reserve is dependant on how much you use the backlite, alarms and to a lesser extent the other digital functions. After a basic service (cleaning, battery, seals, hermeticity test) the watch has lost sync one time which happened two days ago. The current battery has been in place about a year and a half now and I use the digital functions and backlite quite a bit. Bottom line, when the battery is fresh, the watch will likely hold sync very well for the first year and often well beyond that. The battery life itself is specified to be 2-3 years and usage varies so the laws of physics apply. I certainly recommend having the basic service performed on the watch while still under warranty which BTW extends the warranty another year for the piece. Hope this helps.. ![]() Best, Ron PS. A good solid "bump" to the watch such as whacking a doorframe while entering a room will also knock the watch out of synch. ![]() |

I will have a look when I get the watch back, yesterday morning, the display started flashing, and according to the manual that is a sign that battery needs replacing, so I took it in. I would still like to know what the original date of production was, so O2AFAC67 wrote: between the south interhorns. what are they? the bits that hold the strap? or part of the logo on the dial? Thanks Neil |

Hello again I just have started having the same problem again...so did a Google search...and this thread from my original post appeared as the first Google search answer. Guess what...I forgot the solution and what I did last time to fix the problem. Was it the battery or what? I just cant remember. But anyway can some one jog my memory of how to re sync the hands to the digital Cheers Neil |

Lovely, thankyou I'll repeat the advice here ....for the next time or forget...or someone else finds it useful, and finds this thread and not the other during a search Quote: Synching the hands with the digital display is achieved by blanking both screens and then pulling and twisting the crown.

No, no need to take to the dealer, not for doing this..it really is a quick and simple job to do. BUT...I think I will need to take it to the dealer soon, to get the battery changed. I seem to remember the last time it started doing this, it was a sign that the battery was on its way out....that was not even a year ago though, Around December 2009 according to my first post in this thread. How long should the battery be expected to last. Virtually never...( maybe once a month or so) use the alarm or other functions....so not even a year...surely it should do better than that? |

Breitling class it as a 2 - 3 year battery life. |
