To me the warranty info in the warranty booklet that came with my SOHCLE is pretty clear: ![]() The back of the booklet must have the dealer info, signature and AD stamp. And that honoring the warranty is contingent on these things (in addition to the other things mentioned) Now take a look at my booklet: ![]() I blanked out part of the serial number in photoshop. My issue is that on the page opposite the perforations, there is no dealer stamp, or info. When I asked my dealer about this, the sales guy said, "I'd be glad to hand write our info for you although you could do the same since it's just gonna be in my handwriting". When I asked about the stamp he said "I have no idea what they are talking about, we don't have a stamp". I would appreciate the advice/guidence of the experts on this forum on how to handle this. Don't worry about it? Call BUSA and ask them what to do? What do you guys think? ![]() |

Not having a stamp is a bit odd for an AD! All the AD's I've used either have a sticky label with their address on that the saleman physically signs over the top of, or an old-school ink stamp that they again sign over the top of. I'd speak to the manager of the store if I was you. There's been a bit of dispute on here about how vital the dealer stamp is in terms of Breitling honouring warranty claims, so I'd just suggest ALWAYS retaining the till receipt for back-up purposes should Breitling ever query whether you genuinely purchased it from an AD. |

Thanks D8! This is very annoying. I called BUSA (Phone: 203-762-1180) and the rep told me the store should have a stamp but barring that having a sales receipt would be sufficient (as you indicated). She said every AD should have some sort of store stamp ( not a specific AD stamp). Called the store, spoke to the manager, who was very "I don't care" in his attitude and he said "come on in and we'll find a stamp for you". ![]() Another reason to avoid J Brown Jewelers in Baltimore, Maryland. |

What's wrong with these people? Ernest jones in the uk have done the same thing to me and have even managed to fill the serial no in wrong! They get paid to do a job and also prob get paid a commission and they can't even be bothered to fill out the paperwork for a watch worth thousands of £/$! The thing is I really like to have everthing right and the paperwork is a part of the watch not just something that came along with it and doesn't really matter!!!! Ahhhh! Lol sorry about the rant guys! |

The Chronomat that I bought preowned didn't have the AD stamp and it was from Tourneau. I didn't think it was that big of a deal. |

Honestly, whether is pisses someone off or not (AND IT PISSES ME OFF A LOT!) it's just not right to not correctly fill out the paper work. You can buy a car for the same amount of money (and less sadly lol) and all that paperwork always gets done correctly! I just think its poor business to not do it correctly and take the time to explain what things are to the customer like the COSC certificate etc if they dont know. I feel like that would really be appreciate by almost everyone and would def retain some repeat business! |

That would drive me insane! I hate when people selling a product act like that. I certainly will never buy from that ad after reading this story... |

GZGym1 wrote: You can buy a car for the same amount of money (and less sadly lol) Sometimes I think AD's need to be reminded of that fact. I think that a lot of sales people get a little blazé over the prices when they are dealing with them day in day out. Sometimes they need a bit of a wake up call by relating the price to something else that they themselves might buy - like in this case a car. |
