Post subject: | New Purchase |
I just got back from my holiday last week which took me to the Far East and Australia, while travelling I happened to venture to a number of Watch shops in the Duty free sections of Singapore airport. I had no intention of buying a new timepeice but when I saw a brand new Navitimer World in Black with Black Deployant I couldnt resist trying it on. (I had been down to my local AD in the UK a couple of times earlier in the year to try a World and Olympus, but just couldnt make my mind up). One thing led to another and after walking away then going back again I decided it was a done deal. I am very happy with the watch, but as soon as I landed and had a close look I realised that the AD had 1. Not signed the warranty Card (Although it was stamped). and 2. not included the Instruction booklet or Slide rule booklet or cardboard Slide rule. Does anyone know if it is possible to get these items seperately? While they are not essential, I just feel like there is something missing when ever I open the box and would like it to be complete. The stamped warranty card is enough - it doesn't need to be signed too. Is it dated? For the booklets, they can be sent separately. I'd just call/send an email to the AD where you bought it, explain the situation and kindly ask them to send them to you. And congratulations! |

Thanks aleister, Yes the warranty card is stamped and dated just not signed, so hopefully that will not cause issues in future. I am just aware that being based in the UK it is not like I will ever take it back to the AD where bought and I have heard of some AD's not wanting to touch anything they havent sold if there is anything that they can use as an excuse (i.e. not signed). I will drop he AD an email and see if they will send the booklets on. Cheers Lee |

ADs are obliged to take in any Breitling, even if they didn't sell it. That's what's coming with the dealer network. For easier tasks, like sizing the bracelet or similar, they might charge you for the work (while the original AD often supply that as a free service) but it's no big figures we're talking. |

So I am struggling with the SIngapore AD, they are now suggesting that the Instruction booklets were in the box when they sold it. ![]() So can anyone help me in the meantime with some info for the Navitimer World. Specifically any important info that is included in the instructions that I should know about. i.e. warnings (What not to do, such as setting date etc). Also is there any mention in the booklet on the use of a winder? if so what does it say? i.e. does it only wind in one direction and how many turns a day etc. Manually rotating the watch I would say that it sounds like it only winds clockwise. or if anyone knows if there is an online copy of the instruction booklet that would be great. Thanks for any help. Cheers Lee |

Normal care and precaution is a very good start. ![]() The only thing you really shouldn't do is changing the date between 8 and 3, as that might damage the mechanism. The other thing is to avoid is swimming with it. Navitimers don't like water, so don't submerse it. I'm not aware of any online booklets, but they show up on ebay every now and then. I guess that's your best bet - if they claim it was in the box despite you say they weren't, I don't think you will get much understanding/help from them as it's impossible to prove that you're right and they're wrong. |
