Hi,

I own a very lovely Navitimer 50th Anniversary model. As the subject heading says, the minute dial on the chronograph is not resetting back to its orignal postion at the 30.

Any help or suggestions?

Yes, everything else runs perfect. I'm not sure about the service history of the watch, I only recently acquired it.

Is there any way of checking?

It might be a good idea though - and money well spent!

I had this problem with my Quartz Chrono Colt, and contacted my local AD for advice. Being new to this forum, I don't want to offend anyone or give anybody incorrect info, but just thought it might be worth trying the method I was told, especially if you are going to get the watch serviced anyway, would it hurt to try? I was told to:

1 - unscrew the crown
2 - pull out the crown to the first "click"
3 - press down the top right hand chrono button (at this point, the second hand started to go round on my watch so this wasn't the correct one, and if the same thing happens to yours move on to step 4)
4 - press down the bottom right hand chrono button, and then turn the crown - whilst still holding down the button.

At this point, the minute hand on my watch returned to the correct position, which on my Chrono is 0 or 12 o'clock.

I hope this helps, and if I have given any incorrect info, I apologise in advance, hopefully someone will spot it.

Any help or suggestions? Thanks in advance David I'm assuming from what yu have not said that it still runs properly and that it is just the reset that is a problem. In that case it's probably an easy fix at the AD, but of course without figuring out why it happened there may be a recurrence. It may well be time for a service on the watch - has it had one in its 7 years of life?

If it's still in the country of origin then Breitling should be able to tell you whether they have previously serviced the watch. It does sound like it could use one, and if it hasn't had one then it's definitely due! Great watch though!

Sometimes, but not very often, I notice that the subdials won't line up properly. So far it's always been resolved by letting the actual subdial run at least a full cycle and then resetting. Hope that will help you.

Does it reset to the same point every time? Try resetting it from about the 10 minute point and then from the 20 minute point to see if it always returns to the same point on the subdial. If it does, the chrono works are functioning properly and it is a simple fix to remove the hand and place it back at zero. If it resets to different points, I'm afraid it's off to a Breitling service center.
