I was unsrewing the crown and in midway before the crown is released to position 0 i tried to srew it back again but i felt some resistance as if some thing was wrong , so do i have to unsrew it all the way till it is released and then screw it back again i.e i can't do this in midway travel. |

Strange, you should be able to do that. |

I wonder if it got slightly cross-threaded? |

The only way that it can be checked for cross threading is by an AD. It's possible that the crown was actually completely unscrewed and that the threads just lined up with one another when you tried to screw it back in - that can happen and slightly turning the crown solves the problem. If you are convinced that it was only partially out though then it needs to go to the AD. |

if you don't mind me asking did you take it to an ad? If you did what did the problem turn out to be? |
