Post subject: | Croco Strap Length Help Needed |
Hi, I hope someone can help me: I've just been told (by Goldsmiths, Leicester) that Breitling only make 22/20mm straps in 110/90mm lengths but - as this thread shows - they certainly used to produce 120/100mm and 100/80mm versions. I'm getting a new croco strap form my Chrono Evo, I got a deployant clasp from Andrew Michaels but had to go to Goldsmiths for the strap as we had some spare vouchers. I've got a 6.5"/6.75" wrist so I assume that I need the 100/80mm rather than the 110/90mm? Would really appreciate any help or advice anyone had on this. Thanks, |

I can't comment on whether the 110 / 90 would be too long, there would be some extra strap, but it will be on the inside so if it is comfortable then I wouldn't worry about it - try it before you buy and see what you think. I've not heard that the shorter straps have been discontinued, but I guess it's possible. |

Thanks for the responses guys. I've just spoken to Samantha Haizelden at BUK and she confirmed that croco straps are available in 110/90mm, and 100/80mm for £400 and that the extra long (120/100) is £460. Evidently the AD doesn't know what they're talking about and, needless to say, I won't be using Goldsmiths again. As to which length is best for my wrist size - I'll report back once I've tried them out. Really appreciate everyone's help. |

Quote: Evidently the AD doesn't know what they're talking about Most staff at most ADs, not just Goldsmiths, are sales people, not watch experts. My local Goldsmiths has a guy who is well clued up on Breitlings and will always call BUK if he's not completely sure. Guess it's luck of the draw who works where, what they know and if they're prepared to go the extra mile for you.And as a skinny wrist man, it's good to know the short straps have not been discontinued! ![]() |

The whole thing's been fairly slapdash: the guy wrote down exactly what I told him (i.e. 100/80mm strap plus deployant) but said he couldn't tell me the price as Breitling change them daily and he'd ring them on the monday. He then called to say that it would be £400 for everything and it would be ready by the following weekend. When we went to collect it was a 110/90mm strap and there was no deployant and he said that Breitling had got the price wrong and it would be an extra £180 for the clasp. I said I wanted the small strap but I'd get the clasp elsewhere* to which, after 'phoning' Breitling he said they don't make the small any more. I know that we on this forum are geekier about the brand than most people but salespeople should know their trade. And I'm sure you can see how many bits of what he said were simply made-up. Sorry about the long post but it's all been a bit of a nightmare. *I've got to say that Andrew Michaels was an absolute pleasure to deal with. I'm not that local but he posted it (for free) Special Delivery and I got it the next day. I know where I'll be buying my next strap. |

I'd check again about short straps. |
