Post subject:  Accurately Setting The Time

I have been playing around with my watches and attempting to set the time perfectly. I pull the stopper out exactly when the second hand hits sixty. Then I move the minute hand to the proper minute and push the stopper back in.

However, the minute hand seems to lag behind a little bit during the first minute. It doesn't get started right away. Thus, when sixty seconds has gone by the minute hand may have only moved through about 5/6 of the minute.

Subsequent minutes are kept perfectly! By this I mean that after another 60 seconds has gone by on the second hand, the minute hand will also have moved through an entire minute. It is only the first minute in which the minute hand lags. Thus, I think it is a problem with how I am placing the minute hand.

Any suggestions on how to set the watch perfectly? I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

I have been doing the same to see if my SA is keeping good time. It seems mine is running fast, but if the min lag you state is correct then maybe we need to figure this out. Maybe there is some time we need to compensate for?
