Post subject:  New black dial for Steelfish 42mm
I have the 42 mm steelfish in blue, but would like it in black. If possible, I would like to have the dial and inner chapter ring replace without sending it to Breitling for a full overhaul. The watch keeps excellent time, +/- 3 sec/day and is in mint condition, so I do not see the need for the mandatory $500 service fee plus the cost of the dial and its replacement. If there is another source for the parts and work, give me a shout. Thanks

If you can find a dial I am sure that you can find a watchmaker who will do the work. The problem is you then can't send the watch to Breitling ever again. They'll just put the original colour dial back and charge you for it because their records will show it as a blue dial watch.

There is some evidence over the last couple of months that costs are coming down significantly for dial changes on older models so might be worth getting an estimate. Of course if the watch hasn't had a service in a while then Breitling may still insist on that.
