I've literally this minute just got back from buying myself a Chrono Avenger for the sum of £775! Boxed, & papers. however, the reason it was cheap (I made him an offer of £700 at first) is because it's well worn, and there is a nasty dink in the crystal @ the 36th minute - it doesn't feel too deep; see pic.

Soooooo, how much am I looking for, for replacing the crystal, and a complete overhaul? As long as it's under £600, I think I'll be on to a winner. I'm right in thinking this should come back looking good, aren't I? I bloody hope so!

Have a look see what you think, it's pretty tatty but everything works perfectly. It's a 2004 model btw.

I was quoted £280 for a full overhaul by BUK for a Blackbird, as for a replacement crystal i would have no idea. Why not give them a call, they are really helpful.

I tried ringing earlier on, but they weren't open. Will give them a bell on Monday.

Ah, just found a post on WUS from a week ago - I think the guy is a member on here; Stefan Tapp? Quoted £153 for a new crystal. That's making it seem like a bargain buy!

Absolute bargain mate.

See if you can buy a Ti Pro II for it from Andrew Michaels, that'll really set it off.

Nice find at that price. Well done! Wish I could pull one off but I don't think my wrist is big enough. Looking at the video of the overhaul you should have it back as good as new.

Rick, you should see my wrist size - it's a proper girls wrist! This really doesn't look big at all. However, nimrod's SuperAvenger was chuffing huge on me!

Ah, Steve, I totally forgot about my detour to Andrew Michaels! I'll give him a bell tomorrow if he's open. Have been looking around for a Pro II, can't seem to find any?

Steve,

The sizing of that looks spot on for your wrists.

My SA wasn't right for your wrist size - as much as i wanted to sell it. :nana:

Hehe, deep down I knew it wouldn't fit! I was seriously thinking about buying it today though prior to picking this up! Even if I did look a twat!

Aye, I do think 44mm is the biggest I can go!

Steve,
 That is still too big for you mate!! What you need to do is let me have it and find a nice 40mm Chronomat.
Maybe a nice Yachting I know the whereabouts of.
If you move it let me know mate.

Forgoet about the mm, it's what looks right for you - the Chrono Avenger looks spot on :lingsrock:

The SA looked like an oversized suit on ya. :D

The watch looks great on you. I have a 6.5" wrist and the Chrono Avenger was my first "good" watch, I will never sell it. I recently installed a Pro II to replace the original Pro I and a new bezel to replace the dinged and scratched original. With those bits and some careful refinishing of the case, my watch looks as good as new (better, actually; I like the Pro II much better than the Pro I).

Funny you mention the Super Avenger - I have one on the way in, I have a feeling it's going to be way too big for me. I had to give it a shot, though.

Congrats on your score, wear it in good health.
