Hi all,

The bezel on my chronomat evolution does not appear to line up exactly central, is everso slightly to the left.

I'm sure it was perfect when I bought it, as I'm anal enough to notice, but it's been returned to Breitling twice as it was gaining 12 seconds per day. I wondered whether it's the face that's out but when I compare the 0, 15, 30 ,45 marks to the centre of the bracelet it seems slightly out.

Only slight, but for nearly £5k I expect a precision instrument to be precise.

Any thoughts/advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Do you mean that when you rotate it that the ratchet doesn't line up perfectly now, but used to???

That's weird. It's an issue on some of the professional range, but the ratchet mechanism can't move so if it lined up when you rotated it when new it still should.

Does it always return to the same position after a full rotation?

I guess its conceivable that the little piece of spring-metal that sits under the bezel and provides the racheting action could have been bent very slightly during the maintenance. That may account for a very slight offset to teh bezel. I couldn't be unseated as it's held in place with two little tabs that sit in two tiny holes in the case. If it was unseated I think Breitling would've struggled to get the bezel back on, and even if they did you'd certainly notice it when you tried to turn the bezel.

If you are certain that it was spot on before, I'd be tempted to take it back again.
