Hey guys. New to the forum Great bunch of lings on the board here. I have a 2007 Super Ocean Steelfish with the black face. I absolutely love the watch. It was an engagement gift from my wife. I have sent it back to Breitling one time shortly after I got the watch to replace the face. I scratched the face pretty bad. After that I have been loosing about 5 minutes of time a month. It's not a huge deal to me but it's something that I would like to get fixed. What is you guys experience with getting a repair or having an adjustment done to your watch? I cannot speak of your actual situation. I can say that my steelfish gains about 1 sec per day. Much better than my Seawolf even with the same movement. On a different note, your AD should be able to regulate it if it is not within specs. I have not had by SW regulated because I am hoping it will settle down. R/ |

I was under the impression that they send them all out for repair. Or at least the store that I purchased mine from. |

A regulation isn't a repair, just an adjustment. Specs say that the watch should be -4 to +6 seconds a day, and 5 minutes a month is going to be around -10 seconds a day, well outside of COSC specs, but well within the ability of a simple regulation to fix. Any AD with a watchmaker should be able to do it in about 10 minutes - they just need a timing machine and a pressure tester. Some ADs do seem to be getting a little more difficult about doing regulations on waterproff watches, but personally I have never had any problems - definitely worth asking. |
