Post subject:  Navitimer Date Setting

I recently purchased a Navitimer. In the instruction manual it says to move the minutes hand back and forth between 8pm and midnight in order to move the date forward to the correct day. However, with previous Breitlings I have owned the manuals said never to move the minute hand backwards between about 8pm and 2am, lest you damage the delicate calender mechanism in the watch. Why is the Navitimer different? Thanks!

Your in fact talking about two different things here - I can understand how it seems confusing.

You must never set the date bewteen the hours of 8pm and 3am - so turn the hour hand until it's, for example, in the 6 o'clock position. Then simply turn the minute hand backwards and forwards between the 8 and the 3, so that it passes the 12 obviously...

The Navitimer with the Caliber 23 has no quick-set date, and is a different movement - its okay to do it with this one.

Sportback, I actually think that some of the other Breitling movements they do say not to move the time backwards over midnight too...
