Hello everyone, this is my first post on the forum, and I need some advice. I want to sell my Breitling Blackbird with SS strap I have been quoted a price of £1000 from http://www.watches.co.uk is this a fair price? The watch is in good condition has a few scratches on case from normal everyday wear nothing that wouldn't polish out, the watch is complete with papers and box. The only thing missing is the spare link, which I could kick myself over. Are watches.co.uk ok to deal with I will have to post my watch to them? Thanks in advance Garry P.S Only reason for sale is my new motorbike fad |

Hi Garry, I'm no expert on the Blackbird so will leave it to others here to give you a view on that price. However, as with any sale, you should consider getting and comparing offers from other trade sites/dealers (eg www.blowers-jewellers.co.uk) who buy pre-owned pieces, and looking on sites such as www.chrono24.com to see what other sellers are asking for similar watches. Good luck! Nick |

Hi, I've bought off watches.co.uk and they were great to deal with. However, I've always been disapointed with the price they and other online watch dealers have offered when I'm selling(I appreciate they have to make a profit themselves of course). I've always ended up selling mine privately on here and ebay. Do a bit of research on the sales forums on other watch message boards like watchuseek.com and watchnet.com etc.. Good luck with the sale. |

Thanks for the posts all, I was going to sell it privately but the warranty card isn't stamped by a dealer I bought it online from the USA from worldwatches.com. I believe they offered there own warranty while it was valid. It's 100% genuine as i had to have it valued by my local Breitling Dealer for insurance purposes. I'm just a bit worried about private selling, I have a high ebay profile but too many scammers and having to accept paypal put me off. Thanks again all Garry |

Are you offering it for sale here? If so I will leave the post where it is, otherwise I'll move it to a better section. |

A Blackbird recently sold on eBay for £1100, so with Paypal fees, final listing fees etc etc they would be left with about £1000. Didn't have the box and maybe no papers either. The ones listed around the £1500 don't seem to sell. Considering the price of a new one, surprised they don't go for more ![]() If its in nice order with box and papers, maybe try it on here starting at £1200 - £1300?? Most of the good stuff advertised on here is in the states, so as a UK sale you might be lucky ![]() |
