They're identical.

The reason for the naming difference is because the 1st generation Steelfish was only 42mm in diameter and was only produced for about a year or so. (I used to have one). Then Breitling brought out the Steelfish X-Plus which had the 44mm case. The name was just to distinguish the two Steelfish models. After a year or so, the 42mm version was phased out completely, and as a result there was no need for Breitling to retain the "X-Plus" part of the name as there was now only one Steelfish model, so that was dropped. It's kind of like when they official dropped the Evo monika on the Chronomat.

The only noticeable change that has happened to the Steelfish since it appeared in it's current 44mm guise is that the "box" on the end of the second hand was changed to an arrow, but that has nothing to do with the name change.

Hi...
Thank you for your explanation. I already made my decision to go for Superocean
series....may be steelfish, new Seawolf( 45.6mm) or Haritage 46.... I could buy B01
if I really wanted. However, it would give me the financial pressure if I really did it.
I thought I should enjoy Breitling without any concern and pressure :D
Let me see what I am going to buy in August...

(Haritage 46 is pretty decent with old belt, but it is not like "standard Breitling" :| )
