Breitling is independently owned by the Schneider family who purchased the name from Willy Breitling in 1979. http://people.timezone.com/breitling/bfaq/#B-2 |

It may also be worth laying your hands on the 2009 Chronolog as it has quite a bit of information about the history of the company. May be some use. |

Hallo Caroline, the Breitling brand is much older as the common literaure says. The first Breitling where manufactured in 1845 unter the brand name "Breitling-Laederich". |
