I have a Navitimer Heritage circa 2004. I know it is time for an overhaul/service, but I am curious as to the cost. I saw on the site it says typical service is about $500, which is no biggie if everything goes right... but I have been having problems with the power reserve and the keeping correct time (I think part and parcel of the same problem)...It hasn't really kept great time since early 2007.

To be honest the watch is bulky and I bang it into things, but I haven't dropped it or anything of the sort...

Will the regular service cost fix these or will I be paying through the nose to get it fixed properly?

Thank you.

Welcome to BreitlingSource!

A full service (the $500 or so one) will likely address those problems, but it's difficult to provide a definitive answer because it's impossible to know what is causing them. A new main spring, clean and oiling may well solve all issues, but if a heavy knock has damaged other parts then that's where the costs can start to escalate.

Either way you should get an estimate from Breitling before you commit to the work so that you can decide whether to co ahead.

I have had the something done before under warranty to fix a similar problem... they told me that I had dislodged a gas spring and that it was fixed... To be honest it kind of irked me that such a quality watch, with a BULKY design would have such sensitive pieces. I don't mind paying for the service, but I don't have the economic backing at the moment to get into extensive repairs.

I mean that is unless Obama wants to subsidize my watch budget and grant me the stimulus to motivate the economy through the purchase of a new watch and repair of my existing watch.

I will have to wait till after my June wedding to get the quote and the service.

Thank you.
