Post subject:  Changing dial color on an Emergency

There's a good deal on TZ for an Emergency with orange dial. But I want the black dial. I have seen dial change discussions come up from time to time, but not for the Professional line. Any idea if this can be done and if so how much would it cost?? (My guess is that it would cost too much to be worth it, but just checking).

Thanks!

Trust me it will cost A LOT! I looked into the idea of doing a dial change on a Monty Legende and was told they'd have to do a service at the same time (for some inexplicable reason considering the watch was a couple of months old! OK, so it's not really an inexplicable reason - it's called "fleecing the customer"), and the grand total would've come to around £620 GBP. NOT cheap.

That would be an expensive and bizare swap... the coral dial is very desirable and swapping it for a black one... :?

Chatted with a mate of mine last week about the self same thing.

He told me to sit down......to change the dial on an SA was £650 PLUS service.

Driver8 while i think its cheeky the reason which i partially buy BUK give is, once the watch has been opened to replace the dial they will only rewarranty it with a service, not great but i get it even if i disagree.

BUK for sure do dial replacements and more than once for a WUS member on the same watch and that was an E, not sure what it cost him but your looking at the dial ocst plus £300 for a service

not cheap. factor it into your decision to buy.

Hey Alex, I do kind of agree with your line of thinking on Breitling having to re-warranty it once the case is opened, but honestly, a FULL service?? On a watch that is only a couple of weeks old? We've all seen those amazing videos where Breitling disassemble the movement and clean every part etc, and I think that's great.... for a watch when it's service window is due. BUT I can't remotely see how a watch that is a few weeks old would ever need it. I think there should be a "halfway house" between not doing anything and a full service.
