It is a watch and there are more important things in life. Went in to the Service Center in NYC and met the watchmaker. apparently the problem is end wobble with the crono second hand catching on the minute hand. Wobble can go unnoticed as any watch is rarely in a horizontal position to the ground and the wobble has to hit the second at the down side of the wobble which can be random. The watchmaker advised that a jewel can be adjusted by a very small amount to correct the problem. It appears that this occurs approximately every three minutes, is already fixed and will be ready by Friday after more testing LOL!

I inquired how such issues could occur and the answer was anything could happen after it leaves the factory ad there are very minute tolerances in the hands and elsewhere in the movement. Despite the foregoing, I agree with you and I believe it is inexcusable that the watch was in for service, the watchmaker fixed the first problem that he saw, tested it an released it back to the client. I am not a watchmaker so I may be wrong to bitch about this However, I make sure my Doctor's do not do that because if they did we would all be dead!!

I feel like the entire planet is becoming all about the sale and not about the service, but enough whining! Thanks for the feedback. Hopefully, there will be no more problems.

Of course the wobble could have been caused by a knock in transit after the watch left the service centre.......

The watchmaker did say that anything can happen after the watch leaves the factory which I understand. Just frustrating. But it is just a watch and I am sure it will get sorted out.

So after my second trip to the ny service center the watch worked fine for a month and whammy just died nothing works winding does not help. Called my AD and told him I want a new watch and he agreed but did not guarantee as he had to get approvals. He said that this does happen where a watch just never works right from day one. Rare but true. So I am hoping to get a new SA my ad had one of the old SA in stock with my blue dial and he pulled it from stock......so we will see... Love to hear from those who know Breitling if I really will get a new watch......

Well it has been six weeks and believe it or not I have a fed ex tracking number for delivery of a brand new SA! Working in M&A my self and given that this is apparently a very rare situation, I do not understand what took six weeks, but my AD came through! Cannot wait! To be honest if not for my AD I am sure this would have never happened. My AD said that my case went all the way to senior management of Breitling in Switzerland! So the morale of the story is pick a good AD.

That is definitely true. Worth remembering this thread when people ask about grey market versus AD.

As long as serial numbers match it's fine.
