If so, does this mean it actually has the 8pm-3am "danger zone" or can you change the date at anytime without risking damage (a la the B01)?

No there shouldn't be a danger Zone for a quick-set date wristwatch.

1
Turn the crown counterclockwise to unscrew it. Once the crown pops out, it is in Position 2. Position 1 is when the crown is screwed down.

2
Pull the crown out one notch. You will feel the crown "click" when it reaches the first notch. Now the crown is in Position 3. Turn the crown clockwise to change the date. The watch will continue to keep time while you are changing the date.

3
Push the crown in while turning it clockwise to screw the crown back to Position 1. Fully screw in the crown to make the case watertight.

Whoa - hold it there.

Quick set date watches are the only ones that have a danger zone - no quick set date mechanism, no separate date change, no risk of stripping teeth.

The watches that don't have issues with danger zones are ones with instant date change (B01, Cockpiut, etc). The BlackBird is not an instant date change and does have a danger zone

Understood now, Roff. Thanks for that. For some reason I thought the Blackbird had an instant date change.

For moving dates, it is true, but for jumping Dates, like the Chronomat B01 it is incorrect. You can change the date with the quickset function at any time in that watch.

Sorry I just noticed you were actually talking about a Blackbird yourself I saw

Wow. Thanks for putting my heart back in place Roff. Those previous posts were really scary.
