Hi Guys,
Sorry to ask what is probably a daft question to most of you but i have recently purchased a SA and didnt where it for 36 hours and its stopped. I have read threads when you talk about watch winders and its just come to me I might actually need one, DOH!

So how do you wind an SA and how ofthen does it need doing?

You don't necessarily need a watch rinder - fingers work fine!

Turn the crown anticlockwise until it 'pops' out - that's undoing the screw down crown. Then wind it 40 turns clockwise for a full wind - don't pull it out any further as that will be the time / date setting.

If you repeat that once every 24 hours with around 30 turns it will keep going. You can't overwind an automatic, so no risk.
