A friend just gave me a crosswind special A44355 - I took it to a jewler had it appraised and cleaned - appraisedd at $5,800. Problem is that (I feel stupid) I don't know how to wind it. I triedd quietly to figure it out myself but the second hand stands at attention at 12:00 - I tried pulling the crown out one click and turned back and forth about 25 times each way, then click back in re screwed - then shaking the watch - I know it is somewhat self winding - but right now still is at 12:00 - Can you over wind? help please thanks

First, welcome aboard. :D
Unscrew the crown and give it 35-40 CW turns for a full wind.
You can't over wind an Auto.

I posted that reply before I saw your answer - Thanks! Yes, I sat there for a while - thought I damaged it - but like you said, can't over wind - It runs great! Thanks again!
