Hi,
My first post on this site so please bear with me. I have wanted an older Aerospace for many years and my wife has been watching ebay for over a year now in the hope of finding me something. I have been very fussy with style and colour. The pictures below (if I have mastered how to post!) will hopefully show what my wife has bought me. I had it authenticated today by a Breitling dealer who agreed it was the genuine article.
Can anyone give me an idea of the age/value of this watch?

It's 2002-2005.

Thank you for that prompt reply, can you help me to understand how you can date this?
I have poured through these articles to try and get a better understanding of these watches. My own watch has no obvious date I can see, the braclet has no date/numbers that I can find...the dealer aged it at over 7 years. He removed a link for me and remembered working on these bracelets a long time ago!
The certificate of authenticity matches the watch, unfortunately there is no date stamp with the guarantee. the watch looks like it was sold in the Caribean.

If it doesn't have a stamp between bottom lugs, it can be dated through the Chronologs, although that can be inaccurate with some models.
The best way to determine age is through Reference no., which I did.
Remember that bracelet age doesn't have to be connected with head's age.

2001-2004, likely closer to 2001 because of the Aerospace bracelet and the pearl

There's a good article on the history of the Aerospace and how to date one on WUS...

Check it in handbooks.
Here's link to Altro's article... http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=73

It was introduced late '01, it's not in '01 Chronolog.

This is for 79 Cal...
Quote:"In the 20th anniversary year of the Aerospace the new Aerospace Avantage (french for "advantage") is announced in March and shown at the Basel watch fair in April. It begins to reach dealers in September/October 2005 but is not widely available to the public until 2006."

We can put it this way also, late '01 - early '05.

Thank you for the info.
I am delighted with the watch my wife bought me, it is everything I had hoped for.
Can someone suggest what it should be valued at for insurance purposes?
