Welcome to the forum Peter.
My rule of thumb is to take 40% off the current list price on a new watch for an "as new" used watch under 12 months old so £1000 looks OK, even if it's slightly more than 12 months old. Limited editions do not usually command any premium. Indeed, a squadron motif on a dial can reduce the price as the number of potential buyers is probably less than for a plain dial.
With very few exceptions (rare Pateks or Rolex), you should not buy a watch as an investment but if you keep it in pristine condition, you should be able to get back roughly what you paid for it.
