I have a 2 year old Avenger chronograph with the caliber 13 movement. The chrono pushers just stopped working. First it wouldn't reset. Then the top pusher stopped initiating the chronograph shortly after. They don't click anymore. They're just kind of mushy.

Since this is my first Breitling I wanted to know what to expect when I bring it in for service. I'm not even sure how to go about getting it serviced. The nearest Breitling dealer is over 150 miles away and I really hate to make the drive to drop it off and pick it up once it comes back.

Is this likely to be an automatic $750 USD overhaul or is it possible they will just fix it and charge for the repair itself? The watch is about 3 weeks out of warranty, of course, so I am screwed on getting Breitling to pay for any of it. This really burns me up. I've owned this watch less than a month and it's already broken. Ugh...

You can't just fix it without servicing, the service is required as soon as the integrity of the case is compromised. Impossible to accurately guess costs because there is no way of knowing exactly what is wrong. You can ship the watch directly to BUSA in CT assuming you are in the US.

Breitling might repair under warranty if you get it out ASAP. When a watch fails three weeks out of warranty, it's a bad look.

Most likely will cost you 700 USD, but it's best to burn up over that while the watch is in transit to the service centre. The longer you delay, the less likely they will fudge the date and treat it as a warranty repair.

I sure hope you're right and Breitling picks up at least some of the bill. I'm not holding my breath though. The thought of a $700 repair bill after just paying for the watch less than a month ago really hurts. I sent it to Breitling this morning so I guess we'll see next week after they get a chance to look at it.
