My CSO was the subject of a full overhaul by BUK in March 2012 so getting on for 3 years. I noticed that the power reserve has been reducing over the last couple of weeks but put that down to a lazy Christmas and lack of wrist time. Today I noticed it had stopped again but started up when I picked it up. On attempting to wind the watch I felt resistance and also felt the rotor spin when I turned the winder. I don't intend to do anything else for fear of making things worse. I guess it's off to Breitling UK again. Anyone have any ideas what the issue may be?

Three years seems a bit early for a new overhaul but what you describe tells me it needs maintenance again. Maybe the wear and tear on your watch is higher because of how you use the watch on a daily basis but stil...

The spinning rotor when winding is an indication of the rotor not disengaging from the keyless works and could theoretically be also adding inertia to the running train effectively reducing the power reserve (the mainspring still has stored energy but can't transmit enough power to keep the watch running). Definitely a service fix but likely a 'problem' rather than simply regular maintenance.

Thank you both for your advice. Three years is rather early especially as the watch is worn in rotation and not used for in harsh situations. Back to BUK it'll have to go I guess.
