Need help with a problem. Hope you can help.

I've had my Aerospace for over twelve years and I wear it pretty much every day. Great watch, and I love it. I plan for this to be the only watch I will ever wear in my life. That's my plan, anyway.

About 9 months ago, on occassion the analog hands would "drag behind" or "lag behind" the real time. The digital time remained accurate, but the analog hands were delayed. Sometimes it's a 3 minute delay, sometimes it's up to a 10-15 minute delay by the time I'd notice.

Each time, I'd correct the analog time and it would stay accurate for weeks or months at a time. This happened about 4 times and then I reported it to my service guy (Juliusz at JD Watchworks in San Francisco). I called Juliusz and he suggested I pull the crown and rotate the hands manually in case there was some dust to be cleared out of the way. I did that, but it happened again later so I sent it to Juliusz.

Juliusz said the battery was weak and needed replacing. So, replaced. (Which is a little strange because whenever the battery ran low the digital display would flash - I think that's the usual low indicator).

Anyway about a month after getting the watch back it happened again - 3 minutes, delayed. That was last week. Juliusz said to ship it to him.

I haven't shipped it to him, not yet.

Should I be concerned with the service I'm getting at JD Watchworks? Should I have another authorized shop inspect and service it? Should I contact Breitling directly? I'm guessing they're likely to tell me to just get it serviced. Is there any lifetime warranty on my watch? I bought it brand new, at a shop in Vancouver, BC named Time and Gold. I'm the only owner.

I've always had my watch serviced at JD Watchworks in San Francisco, which is the only authorized service shop in the area. I live close to SF and the next closest service shop is in Los Angeles.

Warranty is 2 years, that's long expired, but a Breitling service comes with a 12 month warranty.

My first reaction is that the running train has no lubrication, not that the battery is weak. I think that it needs a full service which JD should be able to perform and which should then carry a warranty.

Okay, thanks. If the running train is out of lube then is there damage being caused, or has been caused? Might be impossible to tell that...?
