I purchased my skyracer new from AD. I noticed that after 6 months I was loosing time. I sent it in before it was out of warranty. when I got the watch back it looked like they rebuilt the watch. There were so many things they replaced. The watch kept pretty good time for another 5 months then went back to 4-7 minutes every 3-4 weeks.

The only time I take my watch off is when I play golf. So it is getting plenty of motion and walking around. My swimming pool is only 5 ft deep so I dont think splashing around with the kids did it.

I this normal for the Skyracer? oh I have the last year that the bezel is metal and not the black rubber. looking at the list of things they replaced and work they did the last time it was over 1500 in repairs. I really dont want to drop 1500 more on this watch.

the warranty paperwork said they warrantied the work they did for like 90 days so I can not send it back to them for free I am guessing?
any chance britling will fix this for me no charge?

thanks
jim

Impossible to say whether they will fix free of charge without knowing what is wrong, but unlikely if it is out of warranty. It's out of COSC specs at the 'best' performance level of 4 minutes in 4 weeks, but even at the 'worst' performance of 7 minutes in 3 weeks the error averages 20 seconds a day which is easily addressed with a regulation that will take just a few minutes. The bigger concern for me would be the apparent large variation in performance - I assume that sometimes it's losing a minute a week, sometimes 2 minutes based on your range. That implies a more serious issue that is only evident in certain positions - a broken jewel perhaps. I would start with a regulation and see what that does for performance.

On average how long does this regulation service take?

30 seconds, plus a few minutes to time it and a follow up after a week if the watchmaker is competent.

Don't know for other countries but here in Belgium, when Breitling does a repair of an overhaul, you get two years of warranty again... Doesn't matter what age the watch has.

Most places it is 1 year. I've never previously heard of a factory warranty of 90 days.

Me neither. So I think the watch has been serviced by a non official Breitling dealer.

It was Breitling for sure. I got a watch case and the polished the whole watch. It looked new.

My AD dealer tested it and it was over 20 seconds off. They are doing the regulation and I'll have my watch back on Friday. I have the receipt in my truck I'll double check the warranty statement to be sure I read the 90 days.

I never had a 2 year warranty. The warranty here in the states is 1 year. I got it back in for the major overhaul a couple of days before the warranty expired.

My guess is because I'm in the states the warranty stuff is different.

Yeah that 90 days was another receipt stuck to Breitling receipt. The Breitling says 12 months. Image This oops on my part could end up costing me.
