I just had to take my 2010 superocean to my AD because the dials bevel teeth broke, and my dial is currently sideways. I wear my superocean every single day and never take it off (unless i am sleeping or at the airport). My AD told me not to expect them to honor their warranty because this was probably caused by an impact of some sorts. I aptly responded that I scuba dive, hunt, fish, and run and/or workout all of the time. How can a watch that is designed for these types of uses have a problem such as this?

If anyone is wanting to know whether I take good care of my watch... I do, and am not positive how this happened. Has anyone had a difficult time speaking with Breitling over their warranty.'

thank you

The only time that I have heard of Breitling denying warranty service is when there is water damage and the watch passes a pressure test - understandably Breitling's position is that misuse must have caused the problem in that situation.

If a dial foot / dial feet have broken on your watch then I would expect Breitling to inspect the case and movement for other damage. If the damage was caused by an impact it is stretching the bounds of probability to expect that no other damage occurred. If on the other hand it is a manufacturing problem then I would expect there to be no damage elsewhere.

At this point I owuld just wait and see what Breitlign has to say.

I completely agree. Dial feet do not just fall off unless a) there's been a pretty huge impact to the watch (which would obviously cause visible damage to the case IMO), or b) there's been a manufacturing defect. Dial feet are welded to the back of the dial, so it would take something fairly substantial to break them off unless something went wrong in manufacturing.... in which case the warranty definitely would/should be honoured.

Wait to see what Breitling come back with when they inspect it.

I had the same thing happen to me. I have had my Superocean 42mm (yellow) for less than 2 years and was told that Breitling would not cover the broken feet. I never post to boards but can sympathize. I will never purchase another Breitling if the quality is worst than any $50 watch I have ever owned. So pissed to be told I have to pay $400 after 1.5 years to have something fixed that I have never ever had happen to a watch.

Just had the same exact thing happen to my 42mm superocean! I am beyond pissed. Spend $2400 on this POS. Sent it to a factory authorized repair center and they denied the warranty saying it had a severe impact. That's utter BS. Yes, I have worn the watch and banged into things...but never dropped it or anything to cause this type of damage. I called corporate office, they said I would need to ship it to them so they can inspect and determine if it's under warranty. Asked the CSR rep to save me the trouble and simply call the location where the watch is, they can email you photo's and you can speak to the tech about it. She asked what was wrong, broken dial feet, and simply said we don't cover this under any warranty.

My 10 year Omega & 5 year old Mont Blanc worn daily and never had a single problem. I will never buy another Breitling watch, they have proven to offer ZERO customer service and with several of us in the same boat it's no surprise that they have QC issues. Anyone have any other recommendations on dealing with Breitling corporate offices?

Odd - 2 people join and in their first post, on the day they joined, express the same problem.

I find this highly questionable.

Cheers

I don't. People have a problem, people Google the problem, people find the forum, people post their issue - happens all the time. If you are suggesting that they are the same person masquerading as different users then the tools available to moderators would suggest otherwise.

In that case, this would imply a generic problem with the Superocean dials.
