I have an opportunity to buy an Ocean Racer clasp (minty) for $195 shipped. It's for the 24mm strap.
Here are my questions:

- Is this clasp also made in 20 or 22mm sizes?
- Can this clasp be put on a Breitling leather band?
- I don't suppose there is any way to make this compatible with any Breitling bracelet?
- Do you think $195 is fair?

Thanks in advance!

You have OR straps in either 24mm lug width, 22mm or 20mm. The 24/22 mm tapers down to 20 mm at the end (so if you're getting a 24 mm kit then your deployant will be 20 mm) while the 20 mm tapers down to 18 mm. With the clasp you should be getting you can easily have a 22 mm strap on it instead.

The OR deployant can't really be put on a Breitling leather strap, but if you make a custom order you can get something like this:

Unless you have your own little workshop at home and a big bag of patience you can't fit it to a bracelet.

If it's in good condition, $195 should be a fair price.

$195 is a very! good price. If you haven't used one you will love that clasp.

Guys, thanks! Didn't reallize the tapering issue - that actually makes for better flexibility!
aleister - that fish scale strap (??) was custom made to fit the clasp?
Sounds like then the only options for this clasp are either a Breitling rubber band or something custom made? That seem right?

Thanks Rof! Just spent 2 hours developing a custom Ostrich leg strap for my SOHCLE. Just couldn't afford the price at the end... Guess I'll stick to rubber till I get rich

Animals ABP will not make a strap from: Sloth, rat, bat - not a very comprehensive manufacturer I would say!

I see you already have the answers from Roffensian. :) ABP is really great to work with. I even discussed with them a while to custom make a watch box but in the end had to desert that idea, it would just have been too expensive.

The ostrich they have is also very good. I had them make an ostrich strap for a PAM and it looks really good.

Take care where you buy as there are some very good replica Ocean Racer deployants out there.

Really? Where?

I actually walked away from the deal because I have no way to verify authenticity - the pics he sent me were very blurry or overexposed....

ABP makes some incredible straps. very comprehensive. but honestly that python is amongst some of the most unique straps I have seen. love it.
