Hi all!

I bought a used black croc strap with deployant from a friend, was comparing it to my brown(from an AD), they differ a bit... the black one is maybe an older "style" but I got confused when one of the markings says "Cuir Veritable" on the black and "Croco Veritable" on the Brown from an AD?!?!?!

I checked my regular leather straps and they all say "Cuir Veritable" checked the net for markings on other OEM Croc Straps and all pics i found says "Croco Veritable" EXEPT on a rep page where the "Croc" strap says "Cuir Veritable".... :?

So does anyone know if breitling evere made croco straps marked "Cuir Veritable"?????

TIA

Cheers
Toni

As far as I know Breitling have never put "Cuir veritable" on anything else than their calf straps. That would imply that your's isn't real. If you could post pics of front and back, that would help getting a more definite answer.

Hi thanks for taking the time :-)

Here are some pics of front, side and back. Also some pics of the deployant that came with the strap(now on another strap)

Sorry Toni, that strap sure is fake. It has one of the most significant tells: the word Suisse is slightly below the other words. Also, the "veritable" is a bit compressed.

From what I see with the deployant, it looks better. What concerns me is that you said it was an old strap. Then you would assume the deployant would be old too, and all old deployants I've seen have had the logo stamped, not etched. Does the weight and quality feels right?

Thanks for the info!

About the deployant it seems ok(by older I ment 4-6years old perhaps), but now the issue with the strap I will have to address this to my friend(which us a VERY trustworthy person, so I guess that the "rep-issue" is with his source...)

Thanks a lot for the help

Cheers
Toni

Just to confirm "Cuir Veritable" is french for "genuine leather", and is ONLY used on OEM Breitling calf leather straps. NEVER on genuine croco ones.

Thanks.... the strap and deployant(took a look with my lupe on the detail work, finishing in concealed areas VERY rough) is on its way back to where I got it....

Damn those "reppers" puts a lot of trouble in the hands of serious watchnerds....

Thanks a lot!

I think so too. If I'm not wrong (and I have been before) the loop of the "B" on the logo should touch the shank of the anchor.

It does not on mine; although mine has the applied logo.

Logo should be stamped and spacing between the letters in the word BREITLING should be wider.
