Just finished this reference 174 from 1945. I have not seen many of these - it was originally intended be be a waterproof model with Venus cal 170. About 8 to 10 hours work to do this one. The pushers had so much dirt on the insides, they would not move. Saved and cleaned up the original dial which I prefer to do if its still readable. Hope you like it. Craig

sorry but i disagree, you didnt save that dial and case you resurrected them........ they were so far past the dead line, the line was just a blur

that is amazing amazing work

i have a tudor that was my granddads that he dropped in the sink full of water, it has no hands and the wrong dial any chance you'd fix her up or quotwe for it? movment is in working order no signs of rust as it was fixed up at the time but with the wrong dial

I want to thank everyone for the nice comments - it makes it worth all the work. General answers to earlier questions:
1. Yes the case was originally chromed and rechomed by myself. All of the original chrome had to be sanded off to base metal, resanded again with 400 and 600 grit wet sandpaper and polished before plating.
2. I doubt that the customer would sell it because he bought it for restoration.
3. Tudor - send some pics to chronodeco@embarqmail.com and I will let you know if I can restore it.
Thanks again, Craig

Great work Craig. It' very impressive to see how that case came back to life.

Keep posting work like this. It's very interesting to see what can be done.

Cheers
Jarl
