How much is a mint Navitimer worth nowadays,I have been offerd one It's a Breitling 806 Navitimer dating from 65/66 with the Venus 178 movement which was serviced about 6 weeks ago.It comes on a new ATG strap which retail for £65 and also has an original NOS Breitling Navitimer buckle which I have just sourced from Australia. Comes with a non-original , new box and a set of Breitling chrono instructions and seams quite cheap to me but what do you guys think.

I'm not prepared to value this piece without more information because I don't believe that it is what it's claiming to be.

I want to know why the seller is claiming it to be a 65 / 66, because I think it's a lot closer to 1970, or later. Serial number would help, and I'd like to see the movement - that will have a huge impact on value.

The economy is subduing prices, but I suspect that he knows it has problems at that price - my immediate reaction was $3,000 - $3,500 with a service. The subdials on this one are the larger ones - 1965 is virtually unheard of for those, 1966 is extremely rare. By the early 1970s they were all large subs, but a large sub mid 60s needs to prove itself - automatic assumption is that it's wrong.

Add the fact that there is no serial number and no movement and you certainly don't have enough information to pay $5 for it.

must learn to spell check before posting. But thanks roff I dont know him and dont have a lot of experience with navis although I did onw one for about 3 weeks once,But never wore it and sold it at a massive loss to pay bills,Anyway I think unless I can be sure it is what he says it is I will leave it I dont know him and its too far to drive to look at it and if there is any doubt about it wahtsoever then its just not worth it to me.I like the navis and would like a birthyear ling from 1966 but not a suspect one.
