| Post subject: | List of reliable sellers of vintage breitlings? |
Would having a such list be feasible, whether its ebay sellers or on line sellers? Thanks to this forum, I passed on 2 watches that I was ready to buy/make a bid on. I think maybe keeping on on going list would help others out there like me who could have been taken. Thoughts?? |

I'm not prepared to do it for one simple reason - anyone can be taken by a bad watch. I am prepared to say that Old World Jewelers are 100% reliable with their NOS pieces, get into their non NOS and you are better off asking on here. There are no guarantees - I have bought watches that I'm still not 100% sure of, and it's not difficult to find threads on here where there hasn't been consensus on right or wrong. The bottom line is, no matter how much experience you have the best anyone can say is that it looks consistent - especially if you have to go by just pictures as we do on here. If you want to be sure then you need to find a one owner watch with every piece of paper since new, preferably from a priest or a grandma, and then hope you're having a lucky day. OK, I'm exaggerating slightly, but it's not too difficult to build a frankenwatch (unfortunately). |
