There's a Long Playing Chrono from the 1970s - model 815, don't remember one from the 90s.

Nice enough - Valjoux 7736, nothing particular to make it stand out, but not unappealing

Here's my Ref 810 w/Venus 178 just back from a redo by Craig (Chronodeco). The watch was previously worn regularly since 1968 and Craig did a masterful job of servicing the movement, replacing the worn pushers and crown, new crystal, repaired the nicks and gouges and replated the case. Looks absolutely like new and first rate work by Craig as usual. Wish I could take better pics.

Thanks so much for the info guys, I have a chance to trade for this watch. I believe it is SS. If it is in excellent cond whats the aprox value? And if it needs work what is the cost to have it redone like your gold version? I don't have Breitling books that list this model so I am flying blind. Any help you copuld give me would help. Thanks!

That's from 1973 and probably correctly called a Long Playing since it's the required 3 register watch. Haven't seen this one in a catalog but they sell all the time on ebay for between $500 - $900. The gold version of this one sells for less and is easier to find. This same basic design earlier had a LeMania movement in it and brings a lot more. This one with the Valjoux 7736 is less expensive. Condition is everything in order to be worth the most. Still it would make a nice daily wearer.

The 'bible' is Benno Richter's Breitling, The History of a Great Brand of Watches, now in it's 3rd edition (they are all the same with updated pricing). It's far from perfect, with a few errors and a lot of omissions, but it's the best one out there. For the love of all that is holy don't buy 'A Movement in Time' which covers Rolex and Breitling - unless it's cheaper than your normal firelighters.

I saw this one on ebay (same exact pic too) on sale two weeks ago. I was THIS close to buying it. I think he had it for 799 starting bid and BIN for 949. Looks nice.
