http://cgi.ebay.com/BREITLING-DIVER-S-S ... 7C294%3A50

but is it worth it? And since it's from "South America" I'm kinda wary... the movement looks solid though...

I am far from an expert, but the Breitling Automatic stamp on the movement looks a little untidy. Not the work of a craftsman.

That's funny, I was just going to post this one as a real or not real. I actually think it's a genuine Breitling diver model based upon a couple of facts. The case looks right for a diver, the movement looks correct for a Breitling 25 jewel, and the hands are the same used on the ref 2005 diver. The only thing I don't like is how the bezel fits but since this is a model I haven't seen before I'm not sure it's wrong. Probably a little overpriced but my gut feeling is it's genuine. Wow, that's the second one this week I've seen from South America that looks ok!

It's certainly not a typical South American watch

I think I've seen something similar, and if I remember correctly this is the model that was replaced by the more 'modern' looking 3875 that was the SuperOcean with the almost windrider like bezel.

Not sure where I saw it, so not sure if I have pictures, but I don't think there are any problems with it. I think that the price is OK with the current increase in SO popularity, but certainly not stellar.

Tart G:

That's exactly what I was thinking too about the stamp on the rotor. I just purchased this one and compared it with some pictures:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0141321095

The font and the "B" look the same but near the "SWISS MADE" it kinda gets a bit different. Maybe it's the camera lens angle???

I can't even find the reference number for this one. But I think the price is okay too. I'm starting to get hooked on these "oddball" Breitlings.

reference 3865 is a good number it uses a ETA 2472 movement, the serial # 1101099 puts it in the neighborhood of 1966. Oddly enough, considering the source, this could be OK.

So guess what...

I place my bid with a max of 450 (starting 399) and I get no activity on the auction until a day before. Two active bidders raise my max bid up to 455 (which I let go) and lo and behold~!

The seller emails me a "second chance offer" for 450. Man... that is so shady.
