How about pictures of the movement and inside the case back?

Posted pics look ok at first glance. I don't think I've seen anyone fake both Breitling and Cadette on the dial. Numerals look correct too. More pics required to be sure.

I'm with Paul - nothing wrong with what I see.

A watchmaker will whip the case off for you and let you take some movement pictures.

Age will be early 1950s - I don't see a serial number anywhere to narrow it down.

Movement is a Venus 188, which is correct.

The dial might be an original dial but the rest of it is NOT Breitling.

Hi Craig , can you tell me why its not a Breitling .

My guess is Breitling gold cases did not use the metal dust cover to support the extremely thin back. Also the 103 on the back is not a good reference # and no serial number.

I second what Packrat said plus the movement bridge is not signed. Craig

I hear the concerns, and now that I can take a longer look I see the problems with the caseback, and yes - 103 isn't a good sign. I'm sure that the dial is correct, and I'm not completely convinced that the case itself is wrong - it may simply be the caseback.

The movement isn't signed as Craig say, but that's not an absolute indicator either Craig right?

Roff - I have never seen a correct 18K Breitling with a double back (brass inner support). Also, by the time Breitling started using the V188, they seemed to have gotten their act together and most of them were signed. This would not be a safe investment just for the lack of a serial number alone. Craig

Thanks for the input guys had a trawl through google and found very similar looking watches .Some were unsigned and the movements were close if not exact .

Looking at other watches on the net is NOT verification that this one is correct. You sound like you are only coming up with some kind of lame logic to buy it. Well, go ahead and buy one of the vintage Breitlings on ebay which at any one time are over 50% fake.
This reminds me of people who buy cars because the like the color or interior, regardless of what the rest of car is really like. Happens all the time - then the pain starts! Craig
