Difficult to say too much just on that. Would like model and serial numbers as well as a shot of the movement. It could be any number of 1940s era pieces, but it could also be a no name watch with a refinished dial.

I've never heard of Nicholet, and neither has Google.

The movement looks like it has a maker's logo on the balance cock, but can't really see what it is - I'm pretty sure that it's not Breitling!

I don't immediately recognise the movement - the bridge is Venus or Landeron like, and the logo does almost look like it could be the Venus star, but it's not an obvious one. Craig (chronodeco) will recognise it immediately.

The movement looks like a venus 170, very common in older Breitling, but the minute register is only 30 minutes instead of 45 minutes usually found on Breitlings. There is a few new dials floating around with the 30 minute register to convert no name watches. The one I have (no I am not going to use it) came from Italy.

You're right. I'd forgotten that there were a few variants on this - the pics I have of a 170 are different, but this is one of the earlier ones if I remember correctly.
