Can you help me out with the age of my Navitimer .

At a guess based on that (and assuming that everything is genuine / original) I would guess 1961 - 1963.

If there is a serial number on the back I can be more precise.

I was close - 1964.

A little late for an all black slide rule which is why I stopped at 63, but That's OK. Hope you didn't use the knife in the shot to take the caseback off

It was there so it got the job,i bought this as a xmas present for myself at auction £1100 + commission a new glass a service and a strap and it came to nearly £1500 do you think thats about the right money ?

That's a fair price in this market. 6 months ago it would have been great, but the market has slumped with the economy - a good thing as far as I'm concerned because the prices were getting out of hand for these pieces.

The fact that you took the risk of the service / repair work also helps with the price.

Well the 806 had the biggest run up so that will show the biggest drop, but that is a little excessive!
