Breitling Transocean
Hailing from around 1971 this watch is from the batch which was found in storage in Switzerland a few years ago in NOS condition. Having only been worn a few times, it still is in very good condition, with a flawless colourful dial. There is a mark on the acrylic which should polish out. Manual wind Valjoux 7740 movement is running great says my watchmaker. The integrated OEM bracelet fits my 8 inch wrist. This is another watch which I purchased from the US-based forum member earlier this year.

Damn fine price!

If the guy has evidence that he got it from Old World Jewelers (who had all of the 70s NOS ones) then it's a bargain. Try and ensure that there was a service performed, or factor one in - these watches were sitting for over 30 years with the original oil in them, and I guess to be on the safe side get a movement photo to ensure no bait and switch, but that's a steal!

On a piece like this, assuming that there is nothing significant that needs doing you will likely only need to budget $200 - $300. Depending on how long the seller has had it we are talking about a new watch with bad oil. If it was sold by Old World a few years back then factor in more of the $300 - $400 range, but if it was never serviced and has been run for some time it could be a lot more if the movement has been damaged by a lack of lubrication - obvious signs would be very bad timekeeping.
