Post subject:  Help on a Vintage Breitling

Hi everyone!

Im in possession of a vintage breitling Cadette and its a family heritage. (from my wife´s great grandfather). Im thinking on giving it to my son as a 18 year gift. Its running OK for a watch that has been stopped for 50 years. It has a new plexiglass and it was cleaned and tuned by a watchmaker.
I have very little knowledge on its specs and general info, as so i would ask anyone here with the knowledge if they could give info on this timepiece please.
I have information that this might be a Venus movement, but nothing else.

Exact model and year?
Any other comments or info which might be of interest?

Thank you in advance!

best regards

I don’t think it’s possible to verify your watch as a Breitling watch unfortunately. You would expect the watch to have the movement signed, a reference number, and a model number stamped on it, none of which it has. You would use those to look up the details, as well as the production year. The caseback should be made of steel. Yours looks to be a soft brass alloy. The dial might be genuine, but can’t say that for the watch itself. But if it belonged to your ancestor, I’m sure your son would be very appreciative if it none the less.
