Hello together,

I need expert help again. :) I am thinking hard to buy this 806. But it is important for me to have a dial which has not been re-lumed or touched up. I finally got some better pics. What do you think?

On e.g. the 4, 7 and 10 o‘clock markers I see, that the lume is a tiny bit beyond the white rectangles on the dial. I always though this is a clear hint on a re-lume. Because when the original lume gets old/moist, it only gets smaller and/or falls off. But it does not grow wider, beyond the white rectangles.

According to the seller, the watch spent the last 30
years in a drawer. I believe him but you never know, what happened in the first 20 years of the watches life.

They’re originally done by hand, so not going to be perfect. Looks really nice. Can you post the dial in it’s entirety just for interest? Practically looks brand new.

I would have been less convinced by the full dial shots because it looks so clean, but you can see the aging in the close ups. Looks very minty. Original pushers, unpolished... what’s not to like.

Is the strap Breitling branded? It looks like an original strap.

Wow. Super rare and evidence the watch is barely worn. It’s a winner. I’ll buy it if you don’t.

The thing is: another expert is not so sure and there are quite a few spots where the lume is outside the rectangle and the hands are too good to be true.

But my gut feeling is I want this watch.

Further opinions are highly appreciated although it is clear one can never be certain.

It’s got the original leather watch strap on it!

You know the expression “ if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck”?

It’s obviously good.

And use the term “expert” with care. As our old time friend Rene would say “my opinion is worth what you paid for it”

Rahbari - Can you post a picture of the buckle on the strap?

Don’t make me nervous; I bought the watch. It is not with me yet, though.

By the way: which material is the strap? Genuine lizard or just calf with printed structure?

No worry. Looks fine.

I think it would be a 2-ply fabrication of lizard skin onto calf leather. Lizard skin on its own I don't think would be durable, but better question for a strap maker than me.

How are you able to take all these photos if you don't have the watch?
