Hello together,

I have fallen in love with the 806 and am looking for a nice one.

I only have a tiny bit of vintage experience with Omega Speedmaster Pro und Rolex.

I have noticed that the tritium markers of most 806 turn black/grey over time. Why is that? Vintage Speedys are usually vanilla or sort of green, depending on the year. Also, the markers seem to be much easier damaged than e.g. as seen on vintage Rolex Subs. Did Breitling just use other material, which does not hold up as long? In contrast, Breitlings of the 70s seem get very similar patina like Speedys or Rolexes.

Can someone explain? What kind of patina do you prefer?

Cases are not watertight. Blackening is caused by environmental moisture.
